Positive Post #13

February 14, 2018

I bet you were expecting something reference Valentine’s Day.  Something about love, eternal, love, visionary, love, or love of love.

It’s sort of a post like that. Kind of, maybe, at least it’s a variation of that concept.

It’s a list of links to Five things I really like.

  1. This TED talk about the universe.  Jedidah Isler first fell in love with the night sky as a little girl. Now she’s an astrophysicist who studies supermassive hyperactive black holes
  2. This YouTube video about the youngest poetry slam winner in Australia. Solli Raphael poetry slam winner in Australia
  3. This video that got me hooked on Lindsey Stirling’s awesome violin music. Lindsey Stirling – Dubstep Violin original song
  4. This Photo of the Green Tree Frog (not my photo) an animal I really like. It’s cute. The photo is from this page that has the details of this cute little one –
  5. And lastly here is a link to check out the incredible Fairy Art of Amy Brown .

Have great Wednesday!

Art Blog to Check Out

If you love or like art of all types then you should check out this blog Art Challenge Gallery

Well crafted site that has links to the various artists that have submitted work to the site.

If you are an artist then you may want to check out the art challenges that are listed there as well.

I believe that you will like this one very much. (does that sound like an odd sentence or is it just me? hmm.)

Check out Art Challenge Gallery for some great and interesting art and artists.

Have a goodly Wednesday afternoon and evening. 🙂

Icefest 2013

The weekend zipped by way too fast for my liking but it was fun nonetheless.

We went to an annual event  – Icefest- in which ice sculptures are displayed on the main street in the downtown area. There are about 50 (or so ) sculptures lined up on the sidewalk. A good many of them were already starting the melting process by the time we arrived. Well it was 52 degrees on Saturday. Some of the sculptures were losing the details on the facial areas.

It was interesting to see the details that the artists were able to carve into the blocks of ice.   I took photos of just about all of them. Some just had too many people around them to get a clear shot.

Even though I didn’t get to the bookfest part of Icefest, it was fun and I plan on going again next year.

Here are a few of the photos.

The Tuesday Ten

I like lists.

No really, I love them. Making lists should be a career choice and if it were then I would rule that career path. (ha!)

I figured I would give to you ten websites to visit today (or in the nearest future)

So without further ramblings, I give you the The Tuesday Ten. (it’s a list in case you were wondering)

1. Kim Harrison‘s website. Awesome urban fantasy author. My favorite in that genre to be exact but that is not the only reason to visit her site> Kim has some very good tips for aspiring writers, recipes, gardening tips, info about other authors in the genre, and she posts daily (M-F) on her blog.

2. Creativa Convergence – Check out this blog for local happenings in the art world. The artists covered here range from bands to poets to dancers to artists in a ll mediums. They also have a monthly open mic event on the second Saturday of each month.

3. This Poetry site – Because every one needs a little (or a lot) of poetry in their universe.(it’s http://www.poets.org)

4. Art website – Chad Rasmussen is a great local artist.

5. Astronomy.com website – The truth is out there, it’s written in the stars if you know where to look. This site can assist you in looking beyond the clouds, or at least knowing what’s beyond them.

6. Tiny house Blog – I would love to build my own home someday and maybe this is the way to do it.

7. Gardening the Farmer’s Almanac way – Getting my hands dirty is always a good thing.

8. Ghosts – Do you believe? Either way check out The Ghosts Of Ohio, a fun and informative site.

9. Encyclopedia Mythica  – Tales from the past can help guide the future.

10. Google homepage and type in the first word that enters your mind then follow it and see what you find.

I hope you found the list both useful and fun.

Happy Tuesday!

p.s. Draw something today, indulge your creative side, make pancakes, or listen to a bit of music that you haven’t heard in a while. In other words – make it fun for yourself today.
